This is the last week of the first semester grading period. Any make-up work or outstanding assignments must be turned in by this Friday. FAIR testing (reading) will be Tuesday through Friday for the middle school students. FAIR testing will continue for third through fifth grades next week. We will also be doing the writing assessment make-up tests this week. We had quite a number of students absent when the assessments were first scheduled.
The middle school students will begin preparation for the spring musical, "Once Upon a Mattress" this week with auditions for lead roles on Thursday, January 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The judges will be mostly from the arts community outside SAA. Please watch for more information from Mrs. Julie.
Have you heard the SAA radio ad? Enrollment is now open for next year. You will be receiving a separate email and hard copy of the enrollment form this week. The deadline for submission of the intent form is February 16. If you are a returning student, you are guaranteed a spot for next year as long as we receive your paperwork by February 16. After that date, we will have to take students who are new to the school to fill any open places, using the lottery process.
The January meeting of the Board of Governors will be this Thursday at 8:00 AM in the administration building.
January is Literacy Month throughout Florida. We will be celebrating it the week of January 26. Please plan to join us for the activities. If you have gently used books you no longer want, we would love to have them. We will do the book exchange/sale again this year at a parents' night. Save the dates and watch for bulletins from the SAA Literacy Team. They have lots of exciting activities planned for students and parents. We hope you'll join us.
Please check the school calendar for other events. Have a wonderful week!
