Even though we have a short week coming up, I want to take the time to thank each of you who sent me cards and offered condolences. And, of course, to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you to all of the parents and students who participated in the Hispanic Fair. I was sorry to miss it but heard it was a wonderful event with plenty of scrumptious food as always. I had heard the singing and dance practices from my window leading up to the event so I know that was well done. Also, while I was away Ms. Bryan put on her annual Book Fair, raising over $2000 that our teachers can use to buy books for the students. Thanks to the parents who helped her out!
Last Monday, I was pleased to participate in the Beta Club Induction ceremony for the 15 middle school students who want to belong to a service club focused on community service and leadership. Mr. Bryan Egan inducted Abigail Leftwich, Riley Scofield, Nicholas Egan, Grayson Andrasi, Joseph Ciffarelli, Sophia Drews, Raina Romisch, Catarina Ciraolo, Anahit Badalyn, Kamryn Palan, Sage Scrimale, Kristy Herbon, Anna Smith, Neritan Selaj, and Ardit Selaj into the first Beta Club in this area. Students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average overall throughout the year. Congratulations to all of you!
Next week, we have only two days of school and you can start your Thanksgiving holiday with the Family Fun Night at the skating rink. The cost is just $10.00 per family so come on out and skate with us. Don;t forget picture retakes on Tuesday, Nov. 21 as well. Photos start at 8:15 and you must bring in your old pictures if you are having retakes. Anyone not already photographed will have his/her picture taken for the yearbook.
Just to give you a heads up, we have several events the week of the 27th. Tuesday, Nov. 28 the PTO is sponsoring a Parent breakfast from 7:30 - 8:30 AM. Stop by to say hi and grab a doughnut and coffee for the road or stay awhile and visit with other parents and the staff. Flu shots will be given to students who have registered on the 29th. You must sign up your children before the 29th. We also have a SAC meeting on the 29th at 4:15. The Drama Club will be presenting their one-act plays on Saturday, Dec. 2. Look for more information on these events next week.
