Thanks go out from all of us to all of you for the help during classroom holiday activites including chaperoning the groups as they performed throughout the community. It means so much to have parental involvement in these activities. Thank you also for the warm wishes, the cards and gifts, not only to the staff but to the Toy Drive for Sarasota Memorial Hospital's children units.
Last week the middle school choruses participated in three performances to finish out the season. (The eighth graders still found time to complete their Algebra 1 and Spanish 1 exams.) The elementary students celebrated with special projects - many invovling gingerbread houses! - and holiday events. We ended the week with a whole-school rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which was live-streamed via twitter. We need to work on our timing but we did have fun with it!
We have many activities already planned for the New Year beginning with enrollment for the 2017-18 school year. Watch for information regarding this and information about registering our eighth graders for high school. It will come home through e-mail and the newsletter. We have a Reading Garden clean-up day scheduled for January 7. Also in January is National School Choice Week and Literacy Week. Those are the last week of January so please put it on your calendar so you can join us in the celebrations.
Meanwhille, enjoy your holiday. We will see you in 2017! Wishing you all the joy of the season and happiness in the new year,
