Please be sure to read all of the letters/notices in the weekly news packet. You will find information from Mrs. Julie about the spring shows for kindergarten through middle school. These is also a flyer about the Applebee's pancake breakfast fundraiser this Saturday to raise money for the 6th and 7th grade May fieldtrip to Kennedy Space Center. Each student was given tickets to sell to help defray the cost but only 30 tickets have been sold. The students need to take part in this and we need parent volunteers to help serve the food Saturday morning. Please call Kathy if you can volunteer or help out any way.
Middle school progress reports are coming home Monday. Please look for them. 4th and 5th graders took theirs home Friday.
Parents of 8th graders should have received a letter regarding the computer-based writing assessment to be given next Monday, March 2. Please be on time. Their test will be from 8:00 - 10:15. The 4th through 7th graders will take the paper-based assessment on Tuesday, March 3. Theirs also will be from 8:00 - 10:15. This score will be averaged in with the reading assessment score which will be given in late March (4th grade) and April for 5th through 8th. This is a change from last year when only 5th and 8th graders took the writing assessment and it was a separate score form the reading.
You may have seen the articles on the testing changes that are being discussed in Tallahassee. As of this moment, the only definite changes affect high school juniors. We will keep you informed when changes occur that affect our SAA students.
We hope to see many of you at the Stardust Skate Family Fun Night this Tuesday. Please do not drop off students. They must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Have a great week!
